Confidentiality Agreement

Karen Bowie will not disclose to anyone what you have said unless you want me to. 

However where you or someone else are at risk of being hurt or are not safe then I will need to inform the appropriate professionals such as GP, Social Work, Police or any other service deemed appropriate. I will always make everty effort to speak to you first before doing so.

Karen Bowie undertakes regular continued professional development and supervision as part of my ongoing commitment to the safety and protection of my clients, whether child or adult. Counsellor's would not normally reveal the personal identity of their clients in the course of client-work supervision.

GDPR (Data Protection)

Karen Bowie is to keep records of each session with you. These records are the sole responsibility and ownership of the counsellor.

Under the Data Protection Act (2018) you have the right to see written or electronic records about yourself and this can be arranged by appointment. You also have the right to request I remove data about you from my system.
